The Bible [the Word of God] is not the will of God without the Spirit of God. The Bible has been misused my a number of insincere self centred individuals down through the decades in an effort to lend credibility to their incredible lives. However if one is sincere in their reading of the Bible the Spirit of God [the Holy Spirit] is very close and eager to give understanding to the reader. There has even been a number of people who have done sincere research to prove the non-existence of God only to have God reveal Himself to them!  2 Corinthians 3:6.
